Whether you are wanting to attract a boyfriend or girlfriend, or are already in a committed relationship, there are some very simple tenets for having a satisfying love relationship.

Being realistic about what you want in a potential partner or in your present partner is essential. Each person is unique and a love relationship is a blending of two people, not a band-aid for trying to patch up each others shortcomings.

There is one tough fact about love relationships that one must bear in mind – They are unconditional. This simply means that you are the only person who is going to make yourself happy. Expecting that your girlfriend/boyfriend or husband/wife is going to fill all your emotional needs is a rather far fetched ideal and will not stand up in real life.

The best relationships are ones that build a deep connection between you both and where you are both accepted as the unique individuals that you are. And remember that love relationships are a work in progress!

- Be kind to each other. Harshness and thoughtlessness undermine the relationship.
- Do not expect your partner to be perfect. You’re not.
- Laugh together.
- Surprise each other.
- Experience new things together for growth and bonding.
- Be playful.
- Strive to be the person you would want for a partner.

Keep the magic alive with these simple tips and you’ll see that your girlfriend/boyfriend or husband/wife only has eyes for you.

Our three children, aged between 4 and 8 are a blessing.  They have a striking conviction of the heart.  A living example of the greatness of love.  These physically small people have within them the capacity to evolutionize humanity.  The secret to creating this reality lies in our hands (the parents).

Our children are challenging us to open up. Extraordinarily, they are binding us together as a family. Some time back when Brent and I were in an intense argument, our eldest daughter who was then 5 interrupted.  What she did in that moment stopped us dead.  She looked at us both and said in a soft voice, “Let’s build a home together.” Next, we received a warm hug.

CHILDREN REVEAL THE SECRET TO THE SECRET

The power of now, this very moment, determines the quality of our relationships.  It is what we do in this moment that can produce outstanding results for us as a family.

Amazingly, it is our children who are taking us by the hand and gently leading us on the path to knowing love.

LOVE AT CHRISTMAS

Christmas can have many different meanings to us all. For example, to some people it’s about the birth of Christ, whilst to others it is about presents and partying. Then there are those who go on holidays during the festivities, and those who get together with family.

The greatest gift that we can give anyone, is love. Christmas is a great time to reflect upon the blessings that we have in our lives. There is a saying that’s been kicking around, “There is always someone worse off than you.” It really holds weight at this time of the year.

There are many people from all walks of life who are affected negatively at this time of year. They may be homeless, sick, be on the lower end of the income scale with families. Then there are those with broken relationships, workers who have recently lost their jobs. The hardest one though is if a loved one has died, and it is at yearly celebrations, like that of Christmas when they are missed the most.

Christmas is a time of giving, of receiving, of sharing. It’s about loving unconditionally. All it takes is a random act of kindness towards our fellow human beings and acknowledgement that each one of us is as important as the next person no matter of circumstance, gender, age, race or religion. We just never know if one day we may be in the position of needing a kind heart for support and a caring hand to raise us up when we have fallen.

So, if each of us looked after the little corner in our part of the world and helped one person who may need to be recognized, validated and loved, not only at Christmas but throughout the year, then what a difference it would make.

Reach out the hand of love and in return your soul will sing.
